04 Jul Medicinal Mylk
Medical Mylks are a pleasant way to absorb immune boosting herbs – even kids will enjoy this creamy concoction. Welcome to three different flavour options that require some unique ingredients but are easy to make. In these recipes, I use homemade almond mylk which makes these beverages so fresh tasting. Simple and Creamy – that always wins!
Turmeric offers phenomenal anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties while camu camu strengthens the immune system by being one of the most potent vitamin C foods.
Chocolate contains antioxidants and magnesium while reishi mushroom does wonders for boosting the immune system and calming the spirit.
Chai spice keeps the blood flowing, lucuma contains an array of vitamins, mesquite is high in calcium and astragalus is a powerful longevity herb.

Instructions
- To make the Almond Mylk: Soak almonds for about 8 hours. I usually soak the almonds overnight so that I can make a fresh batch the following morning.
- Drain and rinse the almonds and put them in a high speed blender.
- Add the sea salt, and water to the 4 cup mark, and blend well for about 2 minutes approximately.
- Drain through a nut milk bag (or cheese cloth) and put the milk in a sealer jar. Almond mylk will last for 4 days.
- NOTE: the pulp is either discarded, or used in dehydrated recipes like crackers or bars.
- For each medicinal Mylk recipe, combine all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend for 1-2 minutes. These mylks will keep in the fridge in a sealer jar for up to four days. The liquid does separate so give them a good shake when ready to drink.
- For an extra creamy mylk, feel free to substitute one cup of almond mylk with 1 cup of canned coconut mylk.
